Hello and happy Friday (or Saturday)!
I’ve lost track of time, so Friday isn’t the culmination of my workweek like it once was. Still, it’s time to celebrate. We’re still alive, and that counts for everything.
This letter is about my new book, The Assimilation Agent. I’d love to entertain you and convince you to buy it in one of these exclusive, bespoke pre-order packages that will only be available for a very limited time. If I can’t do that, I’d like to make you laugh. Or smile… I could settle for a smile.
Behind the Scenes: Setting
Have you ever been to California? How about New Mexico? What about a space station, or another planet? You’ll go all those places in The Assimilation Agent.
Sure, it’s my version of those places–but I researched for ten years, watched and read countless science fiction stories, and then combined my knowledge with my experiences and my wicked, boundless imagination. I think you’ll like my version. You might even love it.
Behind the Scenes: Title
Now, who or what is The Assimilation Agent?
Assimilation Agents are assigned to visiting dignitaries in Underground Town, which is the unofficial name of a base in the New Mexico desert. One of those agents and her journey into the base and out of this world is the subject of this story, the first in a planned series.
When you find the alien people, tell them about this book. We need each other.-Sam Hendricks
You can expect the next installment by early 2021, and my next book, Summer Camp for Seers, later this year.
Please take heed: the pre-orders I just told you about, featuring custom signed books and merchandise, will only be available for a few more weeks. After that, you’ll only be able to pre-order the books a la carte on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Now, if aliens aren’t your thing: someone you know will love this book. Aliens are sort of an “all in” or “all out” kind of topic, and you’ll find out who’s an alien person by posting about it on social media or bringing it up next time you’re on the phone. When you find the alien people, tell them about this book. We need each other.
Signing off for now,
